Bloggers claimed victory on GreenDam Pressure from bloggers and governments brings climbdown on compulsory censorship software. In a last-minute climbdown, the Chinese government announced today that it will delay the launch of censorship software that was supposed to have been sold in every computer from tomorrow.
The postponement comes after an unprecedented wave of online opposition, protests by foreign governments and calls by prominent bloggers for Chinese netizens to climb, attack and demonstrate against the "great firewall".
